JOB DESCRIPTION:
We’re looking for great people to join our team! Do you have a love for animals and want to share it with others? Do you have experience with horses and want experience as a Horseback Riding Instructor? We need awesome people to help with horseback riding in a safe, energetic, and entertaining environment.
This is a great way to engage in the responsibilities of teaching people how to ride and about horses, and a direct path to becoming an instructor here at Autumn’s Gate.
Your responsibilities may include:
- - assisting with semi-private horseback riding lessons and events for children ages 4+, as well as adults.
- - catching horses from pastures and some light riding
- - ensuring lessons and visitors are engaging in safe behavior and abiding by the "Barn Rules"
- - preparing horses for lessons, including lunging, and tacking up
- - assist with scheduling, updating student records, and misc. lesson admin stuff
- - making sure EVERYONE HAS FUN! 🙂
Before we take any more of your time, please do not apply unless you believe you can be an equally contributing part of a team that is positive, upbeat, and eager to learn and to grow.
We hope to instill confidence, empowerment, and responsibility in everything we do, we just so happen to ride horses.Â
If these are not qualities that you agree with or that you find of little importance… you won’t like it here very much.
Please only apply if you generally AGREE with the following statement:
“Life is pretty awesome!”
If your ONLY motivation is to get through the work to get a paycheck, may I suggest a less demanding, more standardized position; such as in retail, hospitality or of the many wonderful quick serve restaurants in our area. We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares for, and loves working with animals first and foremost.
If we haven’t scared you away with the aforementioned guidance, then we’re really excited to meet you!
A few additional qualifications include:
- - 2+ years riding and working with horses
- a fun and energetic customer service focused attitude
- work specifically with kids is a huge plus!
- the ability to work with a team and create camaraderie is a MUST!
- basic understanding of technology to track student attendance, forms, etc.
- reliable transportation and time management
